Fabrics – Terms of Service (User-Facing)
January 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your access to and use of the Fabrics websites, mobile apps, widgets, APIs, emails, and other online products and services (collectively, the "Services"). Fabrics is a place to create, share, and discuss fashion. It should be fun and inspiring — but we still need some basic rules. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our related policies, including our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Community Guidelines, Copyright/DMCA Policy, and Reporting & Appeals Policy (together, the "Policies"). If you do not agree, you may not access or use the Services.
1. Your access to the Services
1.1 Minimum age and eligibility
No one under 13 is allowed to use Fabrics. Some features may require you to be older.
By using the Services, you represent that:
- you are at least 13 years old and meet the minimum age required by the laws of your country of residence;
- you can form a binding contract with Fabrics, or, if you are under the age of majority, your legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms;
- you are not barred from using the Services under applicable laws; and
- you have not been permanently suspended or removed from the Services.
If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a legal entity (such as a business), you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.
1.2 Account registration and security
Some features require an account. You are responsible for the information associated with your account and anything that happens through it. You must:
- provide accurate, up-to-date account information;
- keep your login credentials secure (we recommend strong passwords and enabling 2FA where available);
- promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may not sell, license, or transfer your account without our prior written approval.
2. The Fabrics Service
We agree to provide you with the Fabrics Service (the "Service"). The Service includes the features, applications, services, technologies, and software we provide to advance Fabrics’ mission: to help you create, share, discover, and discuss fashion.
2.1 Create, connect, discover, and share
Fabrics enables you to share outfit posts, postcards, wardrobe entries, and forum discussions; connect with people and communities; and discover fashion content you care about.
2.2 Personalization and recommendations
We may personalize your experience and make recommendations based on signals such as your activity, the content you engage with, and your settings. Where required by law, you have controls over certain personalization features.
2.3 Safety, integrity, and enforcement
We use tools, teams, and systems to enforce these Terms and Policies, combat abuse, and protect users (especially minors). We may use information we have to keep the Services secure and to detect harmful or deceptive behavior.
2.4 Technology and automated systems (including AI)
We use automated technologies (including AI and machine learning) to support ranking, personalization, moderation, spam detection, and safety. Automated systems can make mistakes; in appropriate cases, decisions may be reviewed by humans.
2.5 Global infrastructure
To operate globally, we may store and process data on systems around the world. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers (see the Privacy Policy).
2.6 Brands, products, and sponsored content
We may show you ads and other sponsored content, and we may surface product suggestions (including “Shop the Look” style recommendations). Sponsored content must be clearly labeled.
2.7 Research and improvement
We may analyze usage to improve the Service, test features, troubleshoot, and develop safety tools.
3. How the Services are funded
Fabrics may be free to use. Instead of paying to access the Services, you acknowledge that we may show you ads, offers, and other sponsored content. We aim to show ads without directly identifying you to advertisers. We do not sell your personal data. We may provide advertisers with aggregated reporting consistent with the Privacy Policy. For ages 13–17: ads may be shown, but behavioral/personalized targeting is restricted and additional safeguards apply.
4. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how and why we collect, use, and share information about you when you access or use the Services, and how you can control your information.
5. Your use of the Services (license)
Subject to your complete and ongoing compliance with these Terms, Fabrics grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable, limited license to access and use the Services. Except and solely to the extent restrictions are impermissible under applicable law, you may not, without our written agreement:
- license, sell, transfer, assign, distribute, host, or otherwise commercially exploit the Services or our Content;
- modify, prepare derivative works of, disassemble, decompile, or reverse engineer any part of the Services; or
- access the Services to build a similar or competitive product.
We may add or remove features and may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Services (in whole or in part) at any time. We will try to notify you where reasonable, but it may not always be possible.
6. Your content
6.1 Your responsibility
You are responsible for the content you submit ("Your Content"). You represent that you have all rights necessary to post it. We do not endorse, guarantee, or take responsibility for user content, including its accuracy or reliability.
6.2 License you grant to Fabrics
You retain ownership of Your Content. By submitting Your Content, you grant Fabrics a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable license to host, use, copy, modify, adapt, prepare derivative works of, distribute, store, perform, and display Your Content in any media formats and channels, as necessary to operate, provide, promote, and improve the Services, consistent with your settings. Any images or other content you upload publicly may be used by Fabrics for promotional or marketing purposes, consistent with your settings and these Terms. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems, subject to retention needed for legal, safety, or technical reasons.
6.3 Feedback
Any ideas, suggestions, or feedback you provide are voluntary, and you agree we may use them without compensation or obligation.
6.4 Fashion integrity rules (real clothing vs. AI)
To keep Fabrics authentic:
Real Clothing Requirement (Wardrobe/Outfits/Postcards):
- Wardrobe items, outfit posts, and postcards must be real photos of clothing you own or physically possess.
- You may not upload AI-generated outfits, catalog photos, lookbook scans, or manipulated images that mislead others about ownership or availability into wardrobes/outfits/postcards or shopping features.
AI Content (Forums only):
- AI-generated or conceptual fashion images are permitted only in forums for discussion/inspiration and must be labeled.
6.5 Moderation
We may review, screen, edit, restrict, or remove Your Content at any time and for any reason, including for violating these Terms or Policies or where Your Content may create risk or liability for Fabrics.
7. Things you cannot do
You must comply with these Terms, the Policies, and applicable law. You may not:
- interfere with, disable, disrupt, overburden, or impair the Services;
- attempt to access another user’s account or non-public portions of the Services;
- upload or distribute malware or harmful code;
- scrape or collect data except as permitted;
- manipulate engagement (likes, saves, follows) or forum voting (upvotes/downvotes), including via multiple accounts, automation, or coordinated brigading;
- use the Services in a way that we reasonably believe is abuse or fraud.
8. Forums, community ranking, and moderators
Forums include threads, nested replies, and upvotes/downvotes. Ranking considers signals such as votes, engagement, recency, and safety/integrity signals. If Fabrics enables community moderation, moderators act in an unofficial volunteer capacity. We are not responsible for moderator actions and may revoke moderation privileges at any time.
9. Third-party content, ads, and promotions
The Services may include links to third-party websites or services. Your use of third-party content is at your own risk. We may place ads in connection with content, including Your Content. If you run promotions (contests/sweepstakes), you are responsible for legal compliance and must state that the promotion is not sponsored by Fabrics.
10. Copyright and takedowns
We respect intellectual property rights. We may remove infringing content and terminate repeat infringers.
11. Content removal, enforcement, and termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Services at any time for any reason, including for violations of these Terms or Policies. Certain sections survive termination, including: Your Content license, Prohibited conduct, Indemnification, Limitation of liability, Termination, and Miscellaneous.
12. Availability and no warranty
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not responsible for user content.
13. Indemnification
Except to the extent prohibited by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Fabrics and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, contractors, and licensors from claims arising out of your use of the Services, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fabrics is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, loss of profits, loss of data, user content, moderation decisions, or AI errors. Nothing limits liability that cannot be excluded under law.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice (for example, by email or in-app) at least 30 days before they take effect where required. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
16. Additional terms
Some features may be subject to additional terms. If additional terms conflict with these Terms, the additional terms govern for that feature.
17. Miscellaneous
If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. You may not assign your rights or obligations without our consent. We may assign our rights and obligations as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Headings are for convenience only. The words “including” and “for example” are illustrative and not limiting.
